Is It Smart To Be An Extra?

My first extra roll was in an extremely low budget war film starring Ryan Barr

Is it truly smart to be an extra? Well, My first thought is to give you a truthful answer, so I won’t. Of course its smart to be an extra unless you don’t wanna be one, then just freaking go star in a major picture.

I think this way. I don’t wanna be an extra, I’d rather have major parts in a commercial or any film/tv/radio. This being said, I think everyone who reads this should only be extras. ‘Reach for the ground’ as Matt Berry once said.

If everyone aims to be an extra it leaves the whole field of stardom for me. So, I strongly encourage each new actor to shoot for that route (being an extra).. Thus stating this, I have been an extra… twice…

My first extra role was in a delightful lower than low budget war flick

My first injury on a film set

Warning, if you do not like REAL blood then you should of not had looked at this picture

I was on an extremely low budget war flick. I had the beautiful part as an extra who needed to be shot and killed.. a couple of different times. I was so dedicated that I had the first injury on the film set. My ear and the helmet didn’t get along. Being an extra proved to me that its dangerous for my career.

In all truths I’m really happy about this job. Because my goal was to be in a war flick and at some point be an extra. I did both in one job. I aimed for the ground and didn’t miss. One goal completed.

Be an extra to experience the film set and all the craziness behind the scenes but don’t make a career out of it.

Love you
